
A subway train decorated with beautiful ancient Chinese cultural elements debuted in Xi’an, west China’s Shaanxi province on June 18, according to local media.

The interior of the carriages are decorated with poems and Chinese paintings created in the Tang dynasty (618-907 A.D.) carrying the rich historical and cultural atmosphere of Xi’an (previously Chang’an), the ancient capital of the Tang dynasty.
A total of six carriages are decorated, showing various splendid aspects of the ancient Chang’an, including prosperity and poetry.

At the invitation of the subway operator, a great number of people participated in the launching ceremony by dressing in traditional costumes of the Tang dynasty.
Within two hours of the launch, videos of the special train had been viewed over 10 million times.
