A national-level impoverished county has nurtured tens of extraordinary gymnasts over the last several decades.
Its hard to believe, but this is really happening in Rongjiang, a small county located in southwest China’s Guizhou province.
Since 1972, the county has sent 21 athletes to Guizhou's provincial gymnastic and trampoline teams, and six to China’s national gymnastic team.

It is also the hometown of Liu Rongbing, who won the gold medal for the men's team in the 2014 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
For decades, the county has been offering free gymnastic training to children and teenagers. Around 60 children take part in the training each year, pursuing their dreams of one day becoming world-class gymnasts.
