The 238-kilometer long Shuanghe Cave in southwest China’s Guizhou province has become the longest cave in Asia and the sixth-longest in the world, a new fact revealed at a press conference on March 24.
The newest data indicates that Shuanghe Cave is around 238.48 kilometers long, exceeding the Clearwater Cave in Malaysia, the previous longest cave in Asia, thereby upgrading the ranking into the sixth-longest in the world, as was announced by the exploration researchers.

The cave located beneath Suiyang county in Guizhou province is referred to as a karst museum with eight main caves and over 200 branches, according to People’s Daily.
Since 1988, Chinese and foreign researchers have carried out a total of 19 scientific surveys and uncovered many valuable fossils and rare species.
