A Chinese air force fighter jet and an aerial refueling tanker had a picture perfect moment in the sky during air refueling drills conducted in southern China in late October.
The operation was performed successfully after the pilot of the aerial refueling aircraft accurately calculated the azimuth and distance between the tanker and receiver aircraft. Aerial refueling can lengthen a fighter jet’s staying time in air and enable it to give full play to its combat capability.
