People’s Daily Online launches special report for upcoming 19th CPC National Congress

People’s Daily Online launched a special report for the upcoming 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) that will convene on Oct. 18 in Beijing.

The report reviews the Party’s work over the past five years and summarize precious experiences that the Party has gained from the historical process of uniting and leading people of all ethnic groups to carry on and advance socialism with Chinese characteristics under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core.

The special coverage is available for PC and mobile devices. It will report the agenda of the Congress, representatives’ fulfillment of their duties, and common people’s hopes and expectations for the Congress.

One feature of the special coverage is the integration of various media forms. A live broadcast by People’s Daily Online journalists at the Media Center for the upcoming Congress garnered some two million views for instance. In addition, People’s Daily Online Weibo, WeChat, apps, and overseas social media platforms will also report the event.

The media has launched a number of major reports and activities centered on promoting the 19th CPC National Congress, creating a favorable atmosphere for the event.

For example, the People’s Daily Online website has launched a database of Xi’s important speeches, a collection of the original texts of Xi’s addresses since he assumed office in 2012.
