Communist Party of China (CPC) continues to enjoy a fruitful relationship with its political allies across the globe, says Madam Gao Xiangyang, Deputy Director General African Affairs Bureau of the CPC. Her department was established in 1951 and tasked with the primary responsibility of ensuring a political party-to-party relationship between the CPC and other political parties across the globe.
The CPC has establishing stronger political ties with other political parties in the world after China’s reform process started in 1978. “We have established relationships with more than 400 political parties in more than 160 countries,” Gao said, noting that the CPC is strictly following key principles in its bond with political parties in other countries. The four principles she named are: the CPC maintains its independence; ensures complete equality – which deals with treating all its relations equally; have mutual respect – respecting the opinions of the different political parties; non-interference in the internal arrangements of political parties; and does not impose its ideology to them.
The CPC has assured stronger relations with political arties in the African continent. It has ties with 60 political parties in more than 40 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.

“We have enjoyed a successful relationship with parties in African countries. We have realized that the most important task in Africa is development and we in the CPC are committed to ensure that this desired goal is achieved,” Gao assured, adding that CPC can help African countries and political parties to find development path to follow.
Each year, the CPC receives over twenty delegations from different political parties in Africa to exchange ideas in conferences and meetings where development issues are mostly discussed. CPC Committee members on the other hand are sent annually to visit some Africa countries as part of the multilateral exchange visits.
