Type 001A Aircraft carrier

China’s first domestically-built aircraft carrier, the Type 001A, hit the water on the morning of April 26. The new carrier is the first developed and built by China. It is China's second aircraft carrier, after the Liaoning, a refitted former Soviet Union-made carrier that was put into commission in the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy in 2012.
