Shared umbrellas have made their way to Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, by way of Shanghai. By scanning QR codes, citizens can rent the umbrellas placed in public areas including the railway station, subway stations and shopping malls. A total of 50,000 umbrellas have been distributed to shelter citizens on rainy days.
Apart from convenience, the service is also a test of morality. Time will tell whether citizens will obey the rules and hold on to their credit.
