110,000 ethnic minority members pulled out of poverty in Yunnan in 2016

Photo taken on Nov. 23 shows houses for low-income residents of the Dulong ethnic group in Dulong and Nu Autonomous County (Gongshan County), Yunnan province. Since the start of 2016, about 110,000 people from 30, 000 households in Yunnan have emerged from poverty in regions inhabited mainly by ethnic minorities. Those ethnic groups are known for transitioning straight into socialism from more primitive philosophies after the founding of the People's Republic of China.
