On April 5, the Xi'an Municipal People's Government held a press briefing for the Xi'an Administrative Committee of China (Shaanxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (SXFTZ), disclosing the construction of SXFTZ in Xi'an and clearly positioning Xi'an High-tech Industries Development Zone (XDZ) as a high-tech functional zone.
With a planned area of 35.67 square kilometers, XDZ will focus on developing strategic emerging industries, high-tech industries, as well as modern service industries centering on financial trade and featuring productive services, build a global high-tech industrial base, people-to-people exchange hub and financial trade center, build an internationally competitive advanced manufacturing innovation center and an innovative city on the "Belt and Road", and become a world top technology park.
