Lou Qinjian stresses efforts to comprehensively implement river chief system

On March 21, Lou Qinjian, Secretary of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, visited Huyi District and Fengdong New Town for a survey on the regulation of the Fenghe River. He stressed that efforts should be made to regulate the river flexibly, advance project construction systematically and remediate "eight rivers around Xi'an" under the guidance of the new development concept.

Lou stressed that efforts should be made to plan in accordance with high standards, and systematically advance dike, greening, sewage treatment and water landscape construction, thus building the areas along the Fenghe River into a bright "necklace". Efforts should also be made to comprehensively implement the river chief system, perfect and refine working measures, and strictly implement the river chief inspection system and other systems, to ensure that every river is regulated properly and effectively, he added.
