

Recently, the lower reaches of the Xiang River in Hunan province saw signs of the approaching dry season, forcing some ships to line up side by side to avoid becoming stranded. By 4 p.m. on Feb. 20, the water level in the area was only 21.48 meters, which is lower than the designed level of 26.35 meters, according to the data collected by the water resources department of Hunan province.
