Rows of solar-powered LED lights illuminate the suburbs of Beijing. Between 2007 and 2013, a network of 50,000 solar LED lights sprouted up across rural areas in Beijing's Huairou district, Miyun County and Yanqing County, along with Xinzhou in Shanxi province. These lamps solved the problem of nighttime illumination in nearly 700 villages.
Beijing Bolong Solar Energy Technology Development Co., Ltd., the producer of the lamps, has devoted itself to developing energy-conserving products. The company is also responsible for the installation and maintenance of the LED lights.
