Obstacles in communication that need to be solved

Communicating problems not only occur between Chinese doctors, nurses and foreigners (including those who are patients and those who work in hospitals), it also can be found occurring between nurses, technicians and people from different provinces around China themselves as they speak different dialects of Chinese.

Although improvements have been achieved in the communications between Chinese doctors and foreign doctors working in China’s hospitals, it is generally believed that linguistic obstacles are the biggest problem while seeing doctors in Chinese hospitals. This problem definitely needs to be resolved as more and more foreigners are coming to China.
