Photos showing a half-naked woman walking in one IKEA store in China on social media sites attracted the public's attention. IKEA China denied it was a commercial exploitation and said it has notified the police.
Netizen @Circle Night released a group of photos on his weibo saying the photos were taken by his friend at IKEA. In the photos, a woman wearing a gray sweater, with the lower body fully exposed shows her back to the camera. Subsequently, another netizen published a set of similar photos saying those were taken also in the IKEA store. In those photos, the woman is sometimes totally naked, and sometimes wears a long coat.
The photos have triggered the hot discussion on China's social media. Netizens have different judgments on the location where the photos were taken.
The relevant staff of the IKEA Chinese market told Beijing Times that IKEA China attaches great importance on the unpleasant photos taken in its stores and notified the police at the first moment possible. He also said that IKEA hoped all consumers would respect social ethics and maintain public order and good morals. The staff told reporter the photos were not taken in the stores in Beijing. The specific circumstances are under further investigation by the police.
