Mixiu is a 4-year-old black Labrador, one of the three guide dogs with a license in Guizhou. His owner, 27-year-old Wu Lei, is the first blind piano tuner in Guizhou. Every time when Wu Lei needs to go out to tune pianos, Mixiu will always lead and protect him.

Wu Lei lost his sight when he was 11 years old. Because of his sensitivity to sound, Wu started to learn tuning in high school. After years of hard working, Wu finally became a piano tuner. But due to his vision, Wu had a hard time walking from home to home to tune. In 2010, Wu Lei applied for a guide dog from the China guide dog base in Dalian. By the end of 2013, Wu and Mixiu both passed their tests, and Mixiu went home with Wu Lei. In January 2015, Mixiu got bit hard by another dog in order to protect Wu. Wu said that Mixiu is not only his eyes, but also his best friend and family.
