Success Scored in Online Medicine Transaction in Hainan
Hainan People's Hospital has lately transacted 101 kinds of medicine via Internet with the annual transaction volume coming to a total of two million yuan, the hospital thus becoming the first in China to have conducted online transactions for medicine.
Hainan is one of the pioneering provinces designated by the state to put in a tender for medicine purchases, and also the earliest one in China to introduce the online bidding for the procurement of medicine.
Hainan People's Hospital has finished purchasing its first and second batches of medicine comprising of 75 varieties, resulting a price cut of 23.7 percent. The 101 kinds of medicine transacted on the Internet have helped the hospital to raise its efficiency in medicine transaction and reduce cost with a price reduction rate averaging 30.81 percent. This has further unburdened the patients and the hospital, a real boon to the masses of the people.
