CHANGSHA, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Eight people had been confirmed dead as of 3 p.m. Wednesday after a boat capsized early Sunday morning in Anhua county in central China's Hunan Province, local government sources said.
One was still missing, according to the office of the Anhua county government.
Eleven people were aboard the flat-bottomed cargo boat when it capsized around 3:40 a.m. Sunday in waters near the village of Pingshan.
Rescuers are continuing to search for the missing person.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
