BEIJING, April 24, (ChinaMil) --- April 23, 2013 marks the 64th anniversary of the founding of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAN). A total of 75 military attachés in China from 64 countries all over the world were invited to the leading organ of the PLAN to participate in the anniversary commemoration and listen to the briefing on the building of the PLAN.

According to Vice Admiral Xu Hongmeng, deputy commander of the PLAN, in 2012, the PLAN strengthened its cooperation with various navies in the world and made extensive high-level contacts, reciprocal visits of professional delegations and groups as well as exchanges among academies; gradually deepened mechanism-based exchanges and maritime security consultations; and meticulously organized ships' visits and joint naval exercises. All of these military exchanges achieved fruitful results.

The 64th anniversary commemoration of the PLAN was themed by the construction and development of China's aircraft carrier.
