MOSCOW, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Russia placed on orbit an unmanned cargo spacecraft for the International Space Station (ISS), federal space agency Roscosmos said Wednesday.
The Progress M-19M ship is scheduled to dock with Russia's Zvezda section of the ISS on Friday, said Roscosmos.
The spacecraft carries 2.5 tons of cargo for the six ISS crew from Russia, the United States and Canada.
Progress, carried by a Soyuz-U rocket, was launched at 14:12 Moscow time (1012 GMT) from Baikonur space center, said Roscosmos.
