Legislative process of NDTA starts

BEIJING, April 19, (ChinaMil) -- The first session of the leading group for the legislative work of the National Defense Traffic Act (NDTA) (Draft Edition) was convened in Beijing on April 18, 2013, marking that the legislative process of the NDTA formally started. Zhao Keshi, member of the Central Military Commission (CMC), head of the leading group for the legislative work of the NDTA and director of the General Logistics Department (GLD) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), stressed at the session that the legislation of the NDTA aims to upgrade the national defense traffic requirement to the legal norm and to become national will and acts, being a very solemn and sacred task as well as the common mission of the military and civilian.

The NDTA (Draft Edition), which began to be discussed in 2002, was listed in the legislative plan of the CMC in 2003 and was included in the legislative planning of the Standing Committee of the eleventh National People's Congress (NPC) of the People's Republic of China (PRC), according to the news release. In the past decade, a total of more than 50 research works on relevant subjects have been organized and fulfilled. In addition, the opinions and suggestions from all aspects are widely collected and taken into account.
