CIETAC arbitrates more than 1,000 cases in 2012

China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), Tianjin branch commission and Southwestern branch commission of CIETAC have accepted and heard 1,060 arbitration cases, including 331 foreign cases and 729 domestic cases last year, according to data revealed by the CIERTAC on Monday.

CIETAC’s headquarters in Beijing has accepted and heard 975 cases, an increase of 307 cases, or 46 percent compared to 2011.

The disputed amount of money for new cases CIETAC and its branch commissions have accepted and heard reached 15.5 billion yuan in 2012. The disputed amount of money in cases the general commission in Beijing has arbitrated amount to 13.6 billion yuan, increasing 34 percent. Parties involved in the new cases were in 46 countries and regions, like United States, United Kingdom, Germany, etc.

China Maritime Arbitration Commission, Shanghai branch commission, Tianjin branch commission and southwestern branch commission have accepted and heard 82 cases with disputed amount of 1.4 billion yuan.
