It's now been confirmed that China's top boxer Zou Shiming has decided to turn professional.

Zou is set to sign with Manny Pacquiao's company Top Rank Wednesday afternoon in Beijing.

The 31-year-old won the featherweight gold at both the Beijing and London Olympics.

Officials from China's sports watchdog say his transition could be a big motivation for other Chinese boxers.

Another Chinese boxing legend Xiong Zhaozhong has became the first Chinese World Champion, winning last November's WBC minimumweight title.
