Attack on precious metal workshop kills one in Paris

PARIS, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- A worker at a workshop of precious metal in Paris was shot dead on Wednesday during a daring daytime holdup, local media reported.

Citing source close the investigation, the daily Le Parisien said a 52-year-old man died on the spot after two robbers opened fire on two workers who were pursuing them.

The incident occurred at 7:00 local time (0600 GMT) while the victim and his colleague caught the holdup men inside the store, according to the report.

Police have started investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice, it added.
