Ten questions about "overcapacity" issue (9)
9. What will happen to global industrial chain and supply chain when China's advanced production capacity is suppressed?
China leads the world in the manufacture of clean energy generation facilities for wind and photovoltaic power. China produces more than 70 percent of the global total of polysilicon, wafers, cells and modules. The International Energy Agency (IEA)projects that China will account for almost 60 percent of new renewable capacity expected to become operational globally by 2028. Using "overcapacity" as an excuse for trade protection measures will only disrupt global industrial and supply chains, hinder emerging industries, raise the cost of low-carbon transformation, and slow down global green development.
