BEIJING, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Guo Baichun, a fugitive suspected of severe duty-related crime, was recently captured overseas and repatriated to China, an official statement said Friday.
Guo is a former vice mayor of Yinchuan, the capital of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The regional supervisory commission of Ningxia in January 2024 launched an investigation concerning Guo's conduct.
An official with the Fugitive Repatriation and Asset Recovery Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Coordination Group said this office will continue to hunt down all fugitives and deepen international judicial and law enforcement cooperation in targeting corruption, and will not allow any graft offender to get away unpunished.
