LONDON, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 3.18 percent, or 215.79 points, to close at 6,580.61 points.
Rolls-Royce Holdings, a British-based engineering company, soared 3.23 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Kingfisher and Carnival increased by 1.77 percent and 1.59 percent, respectively.
TUI AG, a Germany-based integrated tourism group, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 8.51 percent. International Consolidated Airlines Group, an Anglo-Spanish multinational airline holding company, dropped 8.42 percent. Polymetal International, a precious metal mining company, fell 7.76 percent.
