BEIJING, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Domestic drama film "Better Days" topped the Chinese mainland box office with more than 84 million yuan (about 11.9 million U.S. dollars) on Monday, the China Movie Data Information Network said Tuesday.

Accounting for nearly 70 percent of the daily tally on the fourth day of its screening, the film, directed by Derek Tsang, tells the story of two high school students whose fates were changed by an accident.

It was followed by "Guilt by Design," which generated around 7.52 million yuan on the fourth day of screening.

Coming in the third was "My People, My Country," a domestic blockbuster celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, totaling more than 2.8 billion yuan since its debut on Sept. 30.
