BELGRADE, Oct. 2 -- A Chinese movie about personal choices and the close links between their individual development and China's modern advancement touched hundreds of local and Chinese audience during its screening here on Tuesday.

At a packed cinema hall, movie lovers had a chance to see for the first time "My People, My Country," a seven-part anthology to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

Local audience expressed affection for the film, especially the segment about the Chinese women's volleyball team winning the Olympic gold medal in the 1984 Olympics.

At the end of the screening, the large crowd of audience stood up to the theme song "My People, My Country," singing and waving Chinese national flags.

The film chronicles the most iconic moments in the history of the PRC, highlighting the vital role of ordinary people in shaping the country's development.

"I really like the movie. I see it as a great cultural product coming from China to Serbia. I think that all the stories are very interesting," said an audience identified herself as Milica.

Mirsad, another moviegoer, said the movie made him proud of the Serbia-China friendship.

"I am glad that there is a great friendship between Serbia and China, and that this is an everyday topic here in our country. I like most the story about the little boy, as well as the final story, which is about the Chinese army," said Mirsad.

Chinese spectators were also deeply touched by the movie. Tong Junfeng, who has worked in Serbia for two years, found the movie exciting, especially when he watched it so far away from China.

"My earliest memory was the National Day of 1999. Our country has changed a lot since then. I watched on TV both military parades in 2009 and this year, from beginning to end," said Tong.

"To be honest, I am excited to see such big changes in our country, which has become so powerful. After I went overseas, I found that I love my country more," he said, wishing his motherland prosperity.
