(People's Daily Online)    13:55, September 26, 2019

Foreign journalists took great interest in modern agricultural facilities in Yangling when they paid a visit to the agriculture hub in northwestern China on Sept. 22, as part of a media workshop for the Belt and Road News Network (BRNN).

Reporters from Radio Exterior, a Spanish international radio station, and Agencia EFE, Spain's international news agency, were particularly interested in the irrigation system as they learned that it could save water up to 70 percent.

They were also amazed by the targeted cultivation of organic fertilizers, which enables plants to grow on different types of soil.

The China-Israel joint hi-tech agricultural project adopts the Internet of Things to accurately monitor irrigation and fertilization. The smart system can not only significantly reduce the need for labor and fertilizer, curb water pollution, it can also improve the quality of agricultural products.

During their visit, the journalists expressed their wishes for exchange of experience and furthermore various forms of agricultural cooperation between China and their home countries.
