NEW YORK, Aug. 9 -- U.S.-listed Chinese companies traded mostly lower on Friday with seven of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index ending the day on a downbeat note.
Shares of Ctrip.com International and Yum China Holdings lost 3.03 percent and 2.30 percent, respectively, the top two decliners in the top 10 stocks of the index.
NetEase and ZTO Express increased 2.05 percent and 0.21 percent, respectively. TAL Education Group closed flat for the day.
U.S. stocks closed lower on Friday as chip shares led the decline.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 90.75 points, or 0.34 percent, to 26,287.44. The S&P 500 was down 19.44 points, or 0.66 percent, to 2,918.65. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 80.02 points, or 1 percent, to 7,959.14.
As of Thursday, the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index stood at 2,626.02, marking a 2.92-percent decrease for the month-to-date returns and a 14.61-percent gain for the year-to-date returns.
