BEIJING, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua Tuesday stressed enhancement of agricultural technology innovation to ensure effective supply of grain and major produce and support rural industrial vitalization.
Efforts should be made to speed up development of an agricultural technology innovation mechanism that integrates industries, education and research, Hu said during an inspection at China Agricultural University.
Hu also called for acceleration in breakthroughs in major core technologies such as agricultural machinery and produce processing.
Agricultural technology institutional reforms should be deepened to give full play to the roles of agricultural universities and other institutions and stimulate vitality of talents in this field, Hu added.
