China's central bank on Friday started issuing a set of commemorative coins and notes to mark the 70th anniversary of the issuance of Renminbi (RMB).

The set comprises one gold coin, two silver ones and a new RMB note, according to the People's Bank of China.

The gold coin, weighing 5 grams with a face value of 80 yuan (11.5USD), has its obverse featuring China's national emblem, with its reverse includes various designs including the former site of the People's Bank of China.

30,000 gold coins will reportedly be issued, with a total of 63,000 silver coins to be issued with the face values of 300 and 5 yuan.

Produced by Shenzhen Guobao Mint, the coins will be distributed by the China Gold Coin Incorporation.

Along with the coins, a commemorative note with a face value of 50 yuan will also be issued starting December 28.
