Matchmaking parents seek happiness for children

Thousands of parents gathered to make a match for their children at a park in Xi'an, Shaanxi province on Jan. 21.

Personal advertisements showing their children's necessary information and standards for choosing a partner covered most of the open space.

With Spring Festival fast approaching, Chinese singles feel anxious when pressured by their families to take part in a blind date or matchmaking.

Many Chinese singles are pushed by their families to get married during the festivals.
