
A village in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region that has just 5,000 residents is home to 100 stores on the online shopping platform Taobao.com, reports Chinanews.com.

Located in Liujiang District in the city of Liuzhou, Jilong Village became the first "Taobao Village" in Guangxi, according to the Alibaba Research Institute.

The stores in the village sell a variety of products, including fresh fruits and vegetables, clothes, and auto parts. Their products have been sold throughout China, and some customers are from as far afield as Southeast Asia and Europe.

Xu Yanqing runs her business out of a seven-story building which houses both the production and sales teams. Xu says that her staff work hard all year and only have a few days to rest during the Spring Festival when most people in China are on holiday.
