Cartoon Commentary on President Xi's Southeast Asia Trip ②:Highlight development and inject confidence for Asia-Pacific

(CGTN)    11:00, November 16, 2017

Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote address, "Seizing the Opportunity of a Global Economy in Transition and Accelerating Development of the Asia-Pacific" at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit in Da Nang, Vietnam on Nov. 10. Expounding his vision on the Asia-Pacific regional cooperation and the world development, Xi's speech seems farsighted, which reflects his concerns on global affairs. His remarks were echoed with other participants and won over prolonged applauses.

President Xi's speech marked his debut on a multilateral stage in his first overseas trip after the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in October.

Xi touched on the world situation, Asia-Pacific cooperation, China's new journey and development opportunities.

In his speech, Xi offered rich content and significant meanings, drawing a blueprint and pointing out the direction for the future Asia-Pacific development. The Chinese President also touted China's initiatives, calling on the Asia-Pacific economies to advance with the trend of times, live up to their responsibility and work together to deliver a brighter future, injecting Chinese confidence for the economic development of the Asia-Pacific region and even the rest of the world.

Global opinions consider Xi's speech inspirational and expect it to open up new horizon for Asia-Pacific regional cooperation, promote the regional and world development and prosperity, and offer positive energy for improving global governance and building a community of a shared future for mankind.
