BEIJING, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 8.2 on the Richter scale hit off the coast of Chiapas State (15.05 degrees North Latitude and 93.90 degrees West Longitude) of Mexico at 12:49 p.m. Beijing time on Friday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The depth of the earthquake was 20 kilometers, CENC said.
