China has voiced its opposition to Tuesday's intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launch from the DPRK, which it says is a violation of a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang made the remarks at a press conference in Beijing.
Geng said all parties should exercise restraint as the situation on the Korean Peninsula is complicated and sensitive.
He urged all sides to make efforts to ease tensions and resolve the nuclear issue peacefully.
The DPRK launched the ICBM into the Sea of Japan on Tuesday morning and later confirmed the launch in an official announcement on state television.
