Royston Maldoom's Community Dance project is back: Students perform "CARMINA BURANA" (2)

The chosen dance "CARMINA BURANA" by German composer Carl Orff is globally well known for its highly energetic character. Its powerful music supports the means of artistic expression of dancers. At the same time, the intensity of the composition corresponds to the concentrated energy of 140 teenagers as dancer, 100 singers and 70 musicians simultaneously on stage.

In 2012, the first Community Dance project was initiated by Christa Kroeger Wang and held under the lead of Royston Maldoom, who has been directing such projects worldwide for more than 40 years. 130 Chinese and German students from four different schools presented a professional performance of Stravinsky's "Firebird" at the Shanghai Grand Theatre. 2014 the second Community Dance were performed by 160 Chinese and international students with the Choreography to the music of "Le Sacre du Printemps" from Igor Stravinsky at the Shanghai Oriental Art Centre.
