A sanitation worker from southwestern China's Sichuan province was recently beaten after she accidentally splashed dirty water on a passerby while cleaning the street, local media reported on Tuesday.
According to the victim, Ye Fuying, when she tried to sweep some garbage out of a puddle, she accidentally splashed mud onto a middle-aged woman.
Though Ye apologized to the woman, the woman kept scolding her, and then asked two young men to slap Ye. As her face was hurt and some soft tissues were injured, Ye was sent to the hospital.
Ye's husband, Rao Youke, also a sanitation worker, is very angry about what happened, adding that his wife is still in the hospital for an examination to rule out brain damage.
A witness also expressed his anger, saying that it's not about bad manners, it's about respect. His viewpoint is also shared by the head of the local sanitation office.
The case is currently under investigation.
