Covering an area of 55 square kilometers, Xishan Mountain Scenic Spot in Kunming, southwest China's Yunnan province not only has beautiful landscape, but also is neat and clean thanks to the hard work of cleaners. In order to maintain the good environment, the cleaners take risk to pick up the garbage on the cliff every day, Kunming Metropolitan Times reported.

Every day from 7 am, citizens begin to come here for morning exercise. Every year, the place receives a total of 3.5 million tourists. Such a big visitor flow has brought much pressure on the sanitation work.

Gao Yingqi, 26, has been a cleaner of Xishan Mountain Scenic Spot for three years. His work is to pick up the garbage on the cliff and because of that, he is often called the "flying man". "I never thought that a cleaner needs to work in this way," Gao said.

At 2 pm of Sept. 15, Gao found several mineral water bottles on the cliff. Assisted by his colleagues and with a rope tied to his waist, he crossed the rail and dangled in the air to pick up the bottles. Nearby tourists all took out their smart phones to take pictures of such a breathtaking scene.

This is Gao's daily work. "I pick up 2 to 3 kilograms of garbage on the cliff every two weeks. During holidays, the garbage is much more than usual. Sometimes I had to go 10 meters down the cliff to pick up them," Gao said.

In three years, Gao has crossed the rail and gone down the cliff numerous times. He wants to say to all the tourists: "Please don't toss the garbage down the cliff. Everyone needs to protect the beauty of the Xishan Mountain."
