Chagan Lake, which is known for traditional winter fishing that dates back to prehistorical times, is the only place that saves the oldest Mongolian fishing method.

SONGYUAN, Jan. 9, 2016 -- Tourists gather to watch fish-catching on the Chagan Lake in Songyuan City, northeast China's Jilin Province, Jan. 8, 2016. Chagan Lake, which is known for traditional winter fishing that dates back to prehistorical times, is the only place that saves the oldest Mongolian fishing method. During the annual Winter Fishing Festival which is held to remember the old winter fishing tradition, fishermen first drill many holes through the thick ice and then place a net under the ice. The net will finally pulled out by a horse-drawing winch. The lake set a Guinness World Record of a single net that yield 168,500 kg of fish in 2008. (Xinhua/Zhang Nan)
