On September 11, 2015, at Global Harbor in Putuo District, Shanghai, a ceremony was held to mark the inauguration of Yunnan Goods Center, a project undertaken by Shanghai Urban Lifestyle Enterprise Development Co., Ltd., an affiliate of Shanghai May 4th Co., Ltd. under Bright Food (Group) Co., Ltd. (or Bright Food for short), to integrate information about businesses in Yunnan and sales and displays of typical produce of highlands from the province into a single business facility. A number of officials attended the ceremony, including Shi Guanghui, Deputy Mayor of Shanghai; Zhang Zulin, Deputy Governor of Yunnan; and officials from Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Agriculture, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Shanghai Municipal Government, the General Labor Union of Shanghai Municipal Government, the office for Point-to-point Cooperation between Shanghai and Yunnan of Shanghai Municipal Government, the office for Point-to-point Cooperation and Exchanges of Shanghai Municipal Government, Bright Food, the Department of Agriculture of Yunnan Province, and the Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province. Lv Yongjie, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Bright Food, accompanied officials from Shanghai and Yunnan on a tour of inspection of Yunnan Goods Center.

Yunnan Goods Center is a project sponsored by the governments of Shanghai and Yunnan to facilitate the entry of goods from Yunnan into Shanghai; the project was carried out as a collaboration between the Office for Cooperation and Exchanges of Shanghai Municipal Government and the Department of Agriculture of Yunnan Province, involving participation from relevant government departments of the municipality and province; the project was undertaken by Shanghai Urban Lifestyle Enterprise Development Co., Ltd., an affiliate of Shanghai May 4th Co., Ltd., with the aim of building an open public welfare-centric incubation platform meant to host traders dealing in fresh and raw agricultural goods under Bright Food's Shanghai Urban Vegetable Garden program. Yunnan Goods Center is designed to solve the problems encountered by traders in their effort to sell Yunnan's produce and specialties to Shanghai in such areas as quality monitoring, logistics and storage, and marketing, including a rather short supply cycle and a rather small scale. Since its test run started on June 28, 2015, Yunnan Goods Center has so far attracted over one hundred producers specializing in typical goods of highlands from Yunnan, which have brought over one thousand products with them.

The director of Bright Food's Shanghai Urban Vegetable Garden program said that building on Yunnan Goods Center, the program would go on to explore organization-to-organization (O2O) services that are based on an experience of appreciating goods directly supplied from the source of origin offline and on made-to-order goods purchases online. At present, the platform has put up for sale earlier than any other entity fresh select matsutake picked from places in Yunnan, thereby enabling the residents of Shanghai to enjoy the original flavor of goods sent in from Yunnan by air within 72 hours of picking. And more and more specialties from Yunnan are expected to be made available soon.
