Macao SAR Chief Executive Arrives in Singapore on Official Visit

Chief Executive of China's Macao Special Administration Region (SAR) Edmund Ho Hau Wah arrived in Singapore Tuesday for a three-day official visit from August 29 to September 1 at the invitation of Singapore Minister for Foreign Affairs S Jayakumar.

The chief executive is making the trip, his second official visit abroad following his European trip earlier this year, to update himself on Singapore's public administration and latest IT development in the city state and to enhance goodwill and cooperative relations between Macao and Singapore.

During his visit, Ho will call on Singapore Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong and Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew and meet with Singapore Foreign Minister Jayakumar and Singapore Minister for Communications and Information Technology Yeo Cheow Tong.

Ho will also visit Singapore's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Civil Service College, the Central Provident Fund Board as well as the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce and the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Accompanying him during the visit are Tong Chi Kin, a member of the Executive and Legislative Councils, and other senior officials.
