Severe Earthquake Hits Indonesian Maluku islands
A severe earthquake measuring at least 6.7 on the Richter scale hit
Indonesia
n Maluku islands at 10 p.m. (1505 GMT), the Hong Kong Observatory said early Tuesday.
The quake was just 50 miles (80 kilometers) southwest of the capital of the Malukus, Ambon, originating 21 miles below the surface of the earth.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
