China's Space Technology Bolsters Economy and People's Life
Space technological achievements for many a varied extended use in developing China's communication, meteorology, resource exploration, environmental protection and many other fields have greatly promoted in turn the development of economy and the country's technological advance and an overall progress of society.
Self developed and launched by China on its own, communication satellite has propelled the fast development of the country's communication and broadcast. The long-distance TV education system developed by using communication satellite and ground system has helped people in outlying areas get good education and training. The application of meteorology satellite has greatly enhanced the accuracy of weather forecast, reducing losses caused by natural disaster. The remote sensing satellite can not only be used in resource exploration, but also provide reference for city planning.
Aerospace technological advances have accelerated development of relevant technologies and industries. Rocket and satellite launching needs cooperation of all kinds of industries. Some research expenditure in aerospace field has been transferred to machinery, electronic, material, metallurgy, chemical industry and other basic departments of national economy, which promoted development of relevant industries and technologies. According to incomplete statistics, more than 80% of over 1100 kinds of new materials was developed due to the needs of aerospace technology.
