BEIJING, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Senior Chinese political advisor Wang Gang on Thursday met with a delegation from South Sudan headed by Mark Nyipuoch Ubong, a member of the Political Bureau of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM).

Wang, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, applauded the strength of bilateral ties since China established diplomatic relations with South Sudan in July 2011.

The friendship and cooperation between China and South Sudan are not only in the fundamental interests of the people of the countries, but also conducive to peace and development in the region concerned, according to the Chinese political advisor.

Wang said the Chinese side "highly appreciates" South Sudan's adherence to the one-China policy, adding that China supports South Sudan's efforts for economic development, better livelihoods for the people, stability and integration into the international community.

China is ready to make joint efforts with South Sudan to enhance mutual political trust, boost pragmatic cooperation and increase cultural and people-to-people exchanges to advance the bilateral ties in a healthy and stable way, he added.

For his part, Nyipuoch Ubong said the SPLM attaches importance to ties with the Communist Party of China and would like to further boost cooperation in various areas between the two countries.
