BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese business people of the non-public sector held meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday to study the essence of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) convened in November.
At the meetings of the Executive Committee of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), participants also discussed preparations for the ACFIC's forthcoming national congress.
Huang Mengfu, chairman of the ACFIC, addressed the meetings and commented on the work of the organization in the past year.
Non-public business leaders should understand the essence of the CPC congress and follow the common ideal and belief of building socialism with China's characteristics, said Huang.
Participants also discussed and approved a report of the executive committee to be delivered at the upcoming ACFIC national congress, as well as a draft of amendment to the ACFIC Charter.
On the sidelines of the meetings, the ACFIC conferred its science and technology awards for 2012.
The meetings were presided over by Quan Zhezhu, deputy head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, who is also first vice chairman of the ACFIC.
