Mysterious loud noises lasted for several minutes in Shijingshan district in Beijing at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Many people suspected it was the earthquake as they felt buildings were in tremor. However the Seismological Bureau negated the earthquake rumors.

The Shougang Group also denied the rumor that the noises were from demolition of furnace by blast.

None of the police and the fire department received the relevant alarm.

Emergency departments of the Shijingshan district government hadn’t received reports of emergencies either. The cause of the loud noises still remains a mystery.
