BEIJING, May 9, (ChinaMil) --A mobilization and deployment meeting for the cadres from the leading organs of the four general headquarters/departments of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) to serve as soldiers in grassroots troop units was convened on May 8, 2013 in Beijing. Zhang Yang, member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and director of the General Political Department (GPD) of the PLA, attended the meeting and pointed out that the activity aims at tempering the quality of the leaders and cadres at regiment level or above and improving their level to provide guidance and service to grassroots troops.

Those who have experienced the real life of ordinary soldiers can truly understand the actual situation of grassroots troops. The purpose of the CMC's arrangement for the leaders and cadres at regiment level or above to serve as soldiers in companies is to strengthen the understanding of the grassroots troops by the leaders and cadres at regiment level or above so that they can better do grassroots work, improve leading skill and strengthen combat power, Zhang Yang added.
